A couple of months ago we told you about our work designing a logo for a new Arts TV Channel being created by SBS. Well, STVDIO has just launched so now we can tell you a little more! In designing the STVDIO identity, we looked at ways to represent both the arts-driven content of the channel as well as the platform through which it comes to life. In fact, it was the process of creating the identity that defined the very name of the channel itself. The result is a cohesive and visually distinctive logo that embeds one element within the other, thus creating a single word moniker for the new channel – STVDIO. The logo and brand name substitutes a V for the U, a common practice on Renaissance stonework and a reference to the rich artistic legacy of this time.

When the State Library of New South Wales approached us, they knew they needed to reposition their organisation to become more relevant in the ‘internet age’. By hooking into the experience of making a delightful and unexpected discovery amongst the Library’s collection, the heart of the brand strategy emerged – ‘surprising’. This became the jumping off point for an integrated solution that included the positioning of the Library as an exciting cultural destination, not just a functional archive of dry information. We then created a thoughtful new identity which visually represents the idea of ‘surprising’, utilising the interrobang device, created in 1962 to represent a simultaneous question and answer.

vividwireless identity

vividwireless identity

We have created an engaging brand identity for vividwireless, an internet service provider (ISP) launching this year – the first in Australia to provide 4G wireless broadband technology. Inspired by 4G technology, the uncomplicated logo uses four bright dots to reflect the vibrancy inherent in the vividwireless brand and it’s product offering. The new identity fits vividwireless’ position as a leader in technology while maintaining a sense of fun. We have also designed the B2B communications, packaging and product branding.
