Light Hearted Signage
Working closely with the Queen Victoria Building, Property Managers IPOH and heritage architects, the Frost team developed new signage and wayfinding for this landmark historic building on Sydney’s George Street. Referencing the building’s historic past, we created a contemporary signage system that remains sensitive to the existing building. The lighting was integrated into the signage helping to reduce the QVB’s overall energy consumption by 42%. The signage, materials and lighting reinforce the grandeur of the building and its position as a high-end shopping destination, providing a greater sense of luxury for visitors. The results were extremely successful and we have since been commissioned to develop the directory signage.
The consultant team was made up of Project Managers Coffey Group and Built, Sydney based architects Anchor, Mortlock and Woolley, lighting consultants Bassett (now AECOM), heritage consultants Graham Brooks and Associates, and colour consultants Freedman Rembel; as well as a number of other specialist consultants.
