Come Together

Come Together

Global property developers Frasers are set to revitalise the old Carlton brewery site in Sydney and create a vibrant new gateway to the CBD. Frost* have come on board to develop the brand strategy and will be involved in every aspect of the development’s ongoing communications.

Central Park’s vision is to become a new urban village within an existing city of villages that incorporates New York style apartments, to create a thriving creative urban community. Pritzker prize winning architecture luminaries from all around the world, including Foster + Partners (UK) and Ateliers Jean Nouvel (France), have been commissioned to create an internationally significant development.

We focussed on the idea of the global village – a collective of a diverse people, joining to create a community. From this came the creative idea of ‘coming together’, which underpins all communications. The identity highlights each letter in Central Park with a different colour, representing the convergence of different people and elements to form a whole. The new identity can be seen on the site hoarding and the new display suite.

Stay tuned for more from us on this project! In the meantime check out the website we designed.

Sculpture by the Sea Marquette – the making of

We created a marquette of our larger sculpture to be shown the exhibition held at the Bondi Pavilion. We found the bed frame in the Tamarama council clean-up which was perfect for us  as it references the site-specific nature of our main sculpture. The Marquette gave us time to work out how to put together the real thing.

Watch the video on our youtube page

It took four of us one day to complete (minus the lunch break as seen in the video!)

Frost put the ‘play’ in playground with fun environmental graphics for Sydney Park Playground. The project aims to encourage learning through play for all its visitors, and is designed to include children and carers of all abilities. A tactile alphabet signage system displays Braille and Auslan symbols as well as the written letter and corresponding word. Resin ice blocks, stone cushions and other larger than life features encourage interaction with the park. The tight budget lead the team to create new and interesting responses using re-used and recycled materials wherever possible.

Light Hearted Signage

Light Hearted Signage

Working closely with the Queen Victoria Building, Property Managers IPOH and heritage architects, the Frost team developed new signage and wayfinding for this landmark historic building on Sydney’s George Street. Referencing the building’s historic past, we created a contemporary signage system that remains sensitive to the existing building. The lighting was integrated into the signage helping to reduce the QVB’s overall energy consumption by 42%. The signage, materials and lighting reinforce the grandeur of the building and its position as a high-end shopping destination, providing a greater sense of luxury for visitors. The results were extremely successful and we have since been commissioned to develop the directory signage.

The consultant team was made up of Project Managers Coffey Group and Built, Sydney based architects Anchor, Mortlock and Woolley, lighting consultants Bassett (now AECOM), heritage consultants Graham Brooks and Associates, and colour consultants Freedman Rembel; as well as a number of other specialist consultants.
