Frost put the ‘play’ in playground with fun environmental graphics for Sydney Park Playground. The project aims to encourage learning through play for all its visitors, and is designed to include children and carers of all abilities. A tactile alphabet signage system displays Braille and Auslan symbols as well as the written letter and corresponding word. Resin ice blocks, stone cushions and other larger than life features encourage interaction with the park. The tight budget lead the team to create new and interesting responses using re-used and recycled materials wherever possible.

This project looks brilliant. I love how you’ve combined a tactile learning environment with not just the letters and appropriate words, but hand signals and braille as well. Great work!
